Tom
and Jerry, a lovable pair of peachface lovebirds chillin at
Myla Holloway's house.
|

Khi
Khi and Thi Thi, two more happy "zygos"
hangin' at the Holloway's.
|

Meet
"Chloe," a White-Bellied Caique, who digs "hangin'
in the sunshine" of California.
Favorite Foods: Without question...Red Raspberries
(dried blueberries run a close second)! Favorite
Hobbies:
1. As the picture indicates, hanging upside-down from EVERYTHING
(shower perch, Mom's hand, hanging toys, etc.).
2. "Hairdressing" (translation: Body Surfing) people's
hair until she has achieved a majorly "teased" and "tangled"
look!
3. Lying on her back while chaotically playing with three
foot-toys at once (one in her left foot, one in her right and
one in her beak)!
Most common comment about her from friends/family:
"GEEZ...that bird is a
PERFECT candidate for Ritalin!" |

Flick,
Lisa Poznikoff's Green Cheek Conure, loves to kick back in front
of the TV with her after “watching” the dishes. |

Percy the Sun Conure in one of her classic
poses. She leaves no juice glass unexplored. It's simply a matter
of balance. |

Hello!
I'm Rocky. I am a Greek Cheek Conure. I am 10 years old.
I love to lay on my back in the palm of my best friend Laura's
hand and have her rub my belly. I don't talk at all, but that
doesn't mean I don't make noise. I scream all the time and I am
a very spoiled little boy, but everyone loves me to death
anyway. I am always on patrol duty since my cage is right by the
back window. If I see anything or anyone unusual out there or
spot any kind of animal, I let the house know immediately!
I love my Nutriberries (popcorn flavor), apples, bathing, and
listening to soft music to relax me. I hate Cats!!! |

"Stoshi," keeping up with the upside-down birds, is
a beautiful Solomon Island Eclectus, chillin' in mom's hand. |

Hi!
My name is Cheerio and I am an 8 month old parakeet and I love
bells, mirrors, and most of all cheerios! Here, I'm taking a break
after flying around the house. I am an escape artist and I like
to drive my owner crazy, but she loves me anyway because I am
just so CUTE! I enjoy taking naps at 6pm and I like to mumble
nonexistent words. |
|
Barry
and Alexandra Ginsberg's precious peachface lovebird, "Bijoux,"
is a female with an attitude. She loves driving in the car, especially
when going to visit Dr. Fern. |

Hi, my name is Rex and I'm a three-year-old, fully-flighted Timnah
African Grey parrot. I
love flying around and hanging out on my wicker perch. I also
love taking baths in my bowl and sometimes I get so excited I
tip the whole thing over! If you're eating something I might like,
I'll land right next to you and ask, "Yummy?" until
I get some. |

Kiwi, a four year-old Senegal Parrot, is a regular patient of
Dr. Van Sant. Although small, he thinks he is much bigger and
shows us with his huge, stubborn personality. He thinks he’s
quite handsome, and so do we. |

This
is Kaitlin Makund's bird, Laura, a Green Cheek Conure. Kaitlin
says Laura loves to talk, laugh and do flips in her cage. She
also likes to sit on Kaitlin's shoulder and give her kisses.
And as you can see, she is very photogenic. She recently learned
to say "Hello, Kaitlin."
|

This is Floyd, a Pied Cockatiel. This is when he was a baby
only a few months old. He is now about a year old and very handsome.
He can be silly and loves exploring Mom's room. |

Tuki, an African Grey and Cuki, a Green Cheek Conure. |

Solomon
Island Eclectus boy, Bink E Berde, is a busy seven year old.
In this photo, he's hard at work at his previous "job"
- the world's first "parrotlegal" - note his very
own leather briefcase.Bink
E is now happily being best pal of Jayne Meyers and doing animal
assisted therapy visits through the San Francisco SPCA. "It's
amazing how gentle and sensitive he is," says Jayne. He
seems to have a real sixth sense about who (among the many people
who participate in his visits) has a real need for close contact
with him. He practically turns himself inside out to establish
physical contact.
He's
a remarkable parrot and Jayne says she is so fortunate to have
him in my life. She adds, "it's also good to know For
The Birds is in the Bay Area. "

Greetings!
I'm Beetlejuice. I am what you call a Lutino cockatiel. I was
adopted into the Naumann flock in November 2001. I have two friends,
Buddy and Willie and I have a great time here! If I'm not playing
with a toy on my play gym I'm napping in the sunshine or enjoying
a picnic on the big bed. I am really cute, too. I have a very
stylish haircut - male patterned baldness if you will with little
tufts of blonde - but I'm not male! I'm a very cute little girl
with big grey eyes and a personality to match!
Likes:
Showers, the play gym, and apples.
Dislikes: Staying up past my bedtime.

("Zygo"
is a derivative of zygodactylous, the term referring to unique
structure of the feet of parrots, on which two toes point forward
and two toes point to the rear.) |
